In the year 2000, Mata joined Antena 3, where he has held various positions in the Communications Department. He was the Head of Media Relations from 2000 to 2006, and in 2007 he was named Assistant Communications Director, a job he held until April 2010, when he was named Director of Corporate Communications at Atresmedia, assuming responsibility for all the Company’s businesses and areas of activity (television, radio, movies, multimedia, advertising sales, etc.). In 2019, he also became the Director of Public Relations.

Before Atresmedia, he worked in various media outlets, primarily those specializing in financial information (El Boletín de la tarde, Ranking, Nuevo Lunes, El siglo), as well as for various companies, such as Ericsson España.

He also teaches corporate communications at various universities and business schools, and has received the Talent Award from Spain’s Television Academy, and the Gold Star Award from the Institute for Professional Excellence. In 2007 he published his first book, “Mauthausen, memorias de un republicano español en el holocausto” (Mauthausen, Memoirs of a Spanish Republican in the Holocaust).
