Susanna Griso and Jordi Évole have teamed up again for the new Atresmedia and Food Banks campaign

Susanna Griso and Jordi Évole have teamed up again for the new Atresmedia and Food Banks campaign.

This Monday, 12th August, Atresmedia and the Spanish Federation of Food Banks (FESBAL) are launching their second joint project, this time designed to raise money to support the federation (Prince of Asturias Award 2012) so that it can intensify its efforts to help the people who need it most. As in the first initiative run jointly by the two organisations, launched in October 2012, Susanna Griso and Jordi Évole will be the image of this campaign, which will be broadcast in all the group’s channels.

As for all of Atresmedia’s social campaigns, the cost of the SMS message, in this case sending the word ALIMENTO to 28020, will be passed on in full to this project, to support the work of the Food Banks which helped more than 1,500,000 people in 2012.

To reach the widest possible audience, Atresmedia is launching a campaign that will be seen across all of the company's channels. The host of 'Espejo Público' will be the star of the piece to be broadcast on Antena 3, Neox, Nova and Nitro, while the presenter of 'Salvados' will be the star of the one appearing on laSexta, laSexta 3 and Xplora.

Similarly, Onda Cero and Europa FM will broadcast information slots about the campaign and more information about this will be available at antena3.com/banco-alimentos.

SECOND JOINT INITIATIVE
This is the second joint initiative stemming from the agreement signed between the two entities in October 2012, under which Atresmedia not only makes available its communication capacity as a media group (Antena 3, laSexta, Neox, Nova, Nitro, laSexta 3, Xplora, Onda Cero, Europa FM, antena3.com, etc.) to the Food Banks, but also works with them to implement tangible projects for the social groups the Food Banks are trying to support.

The first joint project, run in October 2012, consisted of passing on the money raised in full to establish a system for processing and packaging surplus fresh food to create non-perishable goods that can subsequently be donated. Thanks to this initiative, it was possible to turn 660,000 kilogrammes of oranges into 245,000 litres of juice.

The Food Banks operate thanks to the work of 2,000 permanent volunteers who distribute food to the health centres, soup kitchens and social or charitable associations working with the ecognizedn.

In 2012, the 55 Foods banks that make up FESBAL donated more than 100,000 tons of staple food products in our country, which benefited 1,500,000 people. Its work has been ecognized with the Prince of Asturias Award 2012.
