Society has joined the call of the campaign 'Red Cross responds with Atresmedia', an initiative aimed at responding to the health, social, educational or employability needs of people especially affected by the pandemic: older people, people with health problems , with disabilities, girls, boys and youth, homeless people, women in social difficulties, immigrants, refugees and the general population.

In less than two months, the most ambitious plan in the more than 150 years of history of the Red Cross in Spain, with 42,000 volunteers involved, has received full support from Atresmedia, which has turned from minute one to make visible the project and reach the maximum number of people. As a result of this involvement, since April 1, the scope of this action from the Group's supports has been 79.4% of the Spanish population, reaching an impact of more than 37.6 million people.

In its commitment and vocation to be close to the citizens, this corporate responsibility initiative of Atresmedia in favor of the Red Cross has been transmitted in an integral way in all the divisions and areas that make up the Group, as well as in its media: in its channels TV with 3,000 mentions, promotions and skirts, more than 60 reports and interviews in the Antena 3 and laSexta programs and news programs; in its radio station with more than 560 mentions and radio slots, as well as interviews and even a special in ‘Más de Uno’ by Onda Cero, with the participation of an extensive cast of comedians; on digital sites and its ATRESplayer platform, with an intense display campaign; and on social networks, supporting from all the profiles of the group, and from all the communicators, presenters and collaborators of television and radio programs.

  • Measures to reduce the impact of the Covid-19

The 'Red Cross Responds with Atresmedia' plan was launched to reduce the impact generated by the coronavirus pandemic by adapting the services and regular activities of the Spanish Red Cross, adopting new measures to prevent health risks and difficulties that derive from this crisis and supporting public administrations to ensure the continuity of responses to the population, in general, and, above all, to people in situations of greater vulnerability.

The measures implemented as a result of this plan have involved, in the Emergencies area, the transfer of more than 20,000 people affected by Covid-19, making 593 ambulances available to the health authorities, or the reception of more than 4,450 people in 101 shelters in all provinces and installed 21 temporary hospital infrastructures.

In Social Inclusion, more than 340,000 deliveries of essential goods have been made, 80% being food and far exceeding the initial estimate of reaching 25,000 families. And under special authorization from the Ministry of Health, and in collaboration with the Council of Colleges of Pharmacists, medicines have been delivered to more than 8,000 people. Likewise, more than 830,000 follow-up, information and accompaniment calls have been made, especially to more than 17,000 people in extreme solitude.

In the Health area, the more than 7,600 people who have needed and received psychosocial help stand out, while, in terms of Education, more than 7,300 children in vulnerable situations have been able to continue their online school support. In Employment, more than 17,250 people have been helped who have lost their jobs or suffer from anxiety in the face of an uncertain future, having mediated with more than 2,700 companies.
