The day began with a breakfast at the garden, located in the Hortaleza neighborhood, Madrid, where they could break the ice and get to know the each other, since the were going to be working together for the rest of the day. Organized into several groups, Atresmedia volunteers carried out several tasks in the morning with the aim of preparing the garden for the winter and the upcoming planting season.

They were responsible for harvesting the remaining vegetables, removing weeds, clearing plants, dismantling irrigation systems and disassembling the cultivation tables to repair and store them. The young people from Capacis spend a few hours a week working in the garden, so they are the ones who know it the best and were able to explain to the volunteers how to work in it and what needed to be done at each moment.

Individuals with borderline intelligence may face challenges in decision-making, conflict resolution, and social skills, but they are capable of developing life processes and thriving with appropriate support. Their interests and ways of understanding life are very similar to those of other young people their age. The Capacis Foundation supports them in building their own future. Through their garden, they promote their employability and raise awareness about environmental protection.
