With the aim of bringing nature closer to our homes and collaborating in the conservation of the birds that inhabit cities, 109 Atresmedia employees and their families participated in an environmental volunteer activity organized together with SEO BirdLife. The environmental educators of the entity gave an online training to the volunteers who, from their homes, were able to learn more about biodiversity and built bird feeders that to place in their usual residences.

This corporate volunteering is part of the support of the Atresmedia Group to SEO BirdLife Aves de Barrio and SOS Nidos awareness campaigns, which were broadcast free of charge on all their television channels, radio stations and digital platforms. Thus, the volunteering activity has also made it possible to internally sensitize company workers about this environmental problem and contribute to the care of neighborhood birds through small actions such as the construction of bird feeders.

The participants emphasize that the experience has allowed them to bring their children closer to the world of birds and volunteering. "What I liked the most was the information on the different actions that can be taken to promote biodiversity in the different seasons of the year, according to the needs of the species at all times" explains one voluntary.

It is estimated that Europe has lost 60% of its house sparrows in the last three decades, a poultry species that represents the coexistence between humans and wild birds, since they have been our most loyal urban neighbors since 10,000 years ago. For this reason, through this volunteering, Atresmedia has joined the SEO BirdLife claim: It is more necessary than ever to fill our cities with nature!
