As part of its commitment to Emergency Committee, Atresmedia group is disseminating, through all its communication channels (television, radio and digital platforms), the fundraising campaign for the victims of this catastrophe. The six NGOs that make up the Emergency Committee have supported displaced people in Ukraine and refugees in neighbouring countries since the beginning of the conflict, providing emergency aid, shelter, food, medicine, psychological support, cash and shopping vouchers, friendly spaces and education for boys and girls.

After two years of conflict, humanitarian assistance remains vital in 2024: some 14.6 million people will need help and protection during this year according to OCHA (Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs). In eastern and southern Ukraine, near the front line, where shelling and targeted attacks on infrastructure have become part of daily life, the needs are even more pressing; Millions of civilians struggle every day to have adequate access to water, food, health, shelter, protection and other essential services and supplies.

As in all conflicts, children are the most vulnerable. At least 3.3 million need urgent help, including protection and education. Many have lost family members, been injured, or faced drastic disruptions to their lives. Forced to leave their homes and communities, unable to attend school and living in unsafe environments without heat or electricity due to damage to the country's infrastructure, children's needs are expected to become even more pressing as that the harsh conditions continue.

The Emergency Committee makes a new call to the population to continue supporting the response of the organizations and combat the violation of the rights of the nearly 6 million refugees in Europe and 3.7 million internally displaced people in Ukraine.
