As part of the 19th edition of Notodofilmfest, which opened its call for entries this September 7 until October 14, 2021, Atresmedia and the AECC invite the festival community to portray, through audiovisual creation, the social reality of cancer. The director Javier Fesser, ambassador of 'Llámalo Cáncer', will make an unpublished short film for the category.

All short films submitted to the competition that seek to normalize the word "cancer" may participate in this new modality. The 'Call it Cancer' award is looking for stories that highlight the reality of cancer and show its social and human dimension. And thus link the word cancer with more positive and hopeful attributes such as learning, courage or companionship.

The award is open to filmmakers from any country who submit unpublished short films subtitled in English with a maximum duration of 3.30 minutes. In order to encourage expectation and increase its value, the winner will receive a cash prize of €1,000.

This project is part of Atresmedia's commitment, in its responsibility as a media company, to contribute to the progress and development of society by carrying out its work of informing and raising awareness and its role as a loudspeaker for issues of concern to citizens. In this sense, Atresmedia aims not only to reflect society, but also to contribute to positive change through the content it broadcasts.
