The Emergency Committee, which jointly addresses the citizen response to a humanitarian crisis situation, has launched its response protocols after the earthquake and tsunami that occurred in Indonesia on September 28, 2018, which devastated Sulawesis' northern part. More than a thousand people have died and there could be hundreds of victims. Roads, airports, electricity supply and communications have been cut off in several areas.

The six NGOs that are part of the Emergency Committee (Action Against Hunger, ACNUR Spanish Committee, Doctors of the World, Oxfam Intermón, Plan International and World Vision) have mobilized their teams in the area to carry out the first evaluations and organize their emergency response, which will focus on shelter, nutrition, water and sanitation, health care and child protection, either directly or through local partners.

Through the Emergency Committee, these six NGOs want to jointly channel the donations of all those who want to help people affected by the natural disaster that occurred in Indonesia. In this way, NGOs will be able to raise funds more quickly and effectively and save more lives.
