Due to the current health situation, for the second consecutive year the Food Banks of Spain did not offered physical collection in supermarkets. Atresmedia supported the campaign by activating an online cart for the Group employees where they could donate virtually. From November 19 to 25, the Company's workers made their donations in order to help alleviate the food crisis that affects to our country.

The poverty figures have not decreased in Spain after the food emergency caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Food Banks needed this year to stock up with more than 22,000 tons of food to serve more than 1 million people who are in poverty and at risk of social exclusion through more than 8,000 charities.

Last year, thanks to volunteers and donors, they managed to reach 31 million kilos of food, which was destined for some 1,560,000 beneficiaries through 11,000 collection points. Spain once again confirmed its leading position at the European level in food donations. In the 9 consecutive years that Atresmedia has carried out annual food collection campaigns, Group employees have donated almost 14 tons of food.

In addition, to help spread the word about the Gran Recogida initiative, Atresmedia has broadcast for free on television, radio and digital platforms, the communication campaign of the Spanish Federation of Food Banks (FESBAL) from November 16 to 23 to mobilize society and encourage online donations from home or supermarkets.
