More than two million people—the entire population of Gaza—are facing extreme food insecurity. The IPC, the UN-backed global hunger observatory, confirmed in August the presence of famine in Gaza City and its surrounding areas.
The needs of the population are immense: hundreds of thousands have been forced to leave Gaza City, many with nowhere to go, while shelters are already overcrowded. Essential services, including hospitals and medical facilities, are overwhelmed. Food, water, and medicine remain in critically short supply.
Under the new ceasefire agreement, access to much-needed humanitarian aid in Gaza is expected to increase. Trucks are already entering and distributing aid, but the number of deliveries must be much higher to meet the extreme needs of the population.
The Spanish Emergency Committee is renewing its call for funds to help cover these enormous needs. For the people of Gaza, whose future remains uncertain, every contribution is a lifeline.

Spanish Emergency Committee
The Spanish Emergency Committee brings together NGOs, media outlets, companies, and citizens to channel public and corporate solidarity in humanitarian emergencies. Established in 2017, it currently includes seven international NGOs specializing in humanitarian aid: Acción contra el Hambre, Aldeas Infantiles SOS, Educo, Médicos del Mundo, Oxfam Intermón, Plan International, and World Vision. United under one voice and purpose, they launch joint appeals to respond more effectively to humanitarian crises.
