The new edition of ESG Spain ‘Corporate Sustainability Forum’, held on September 16, brought together institutional and corporate leaders to discuss key trends in environmental, social and governance matters.

This year’s focus was on the major global sustainability challenges, including governance in times of uncertainty, artificial intelligence as a driver of sustainable development, technological innovation for transparency and traceability, and the climate and social urgency that is placing sustainability at the core of corporate strategies.

Javier Bardají, CEO of Atresmedia, contributed with a keynote address on the role of media in facing today’s sustainability challenges. He highlighted the importance of providing accurate and reliable information as the foundation for constructive debate in a context marked by polarization and fake news.

He also emphasized the trust generated by traditional media compared to social networks, thanks to their responsibility for content and their accountability, as opposed to the anonymity often found online. In addition, he stressed the need for comprehensive and equal regulation for all media, where trust, transparency and responsibility are at the heart of information.
