Transition plan for climate change mitigation
Atresmedia Group has a deep decarbonisation strategy for its operations, with GHG emission-reduction targets for the short term18 (2030) and long term (2050) for Scopes 1, 2 and 3. The targets are science based and were validated by the SBTi in 2023, so they are compatible with the limiting of global warming to 1.5ºC in line with the Paris Agreement.
Atresmedia's decarbonisation targets, published on the SBTi website, represent absolute emission reduction targets for greenhouse gas for Scope 1 and 2 combined and Scope 3 GHG emissions, compared to its base year (2019).

To achieve the goals of its Net Zero strategy, Atresmedia has identified five decarbonization levers included in its transition plan.
In this context, the decarbonization levers identified by the Group and included in its transition plan are:

Throughout 2024, the Group has continued to develop measures aligned with these five levers to contribute to climate change mitigation:

Climate Change Adaptation Measures
In addition to advancing its decarbonization strategy through the development of mitigation measures, Atresmedia worked in 2024 to promote adaptation to the consequences of climate change, with the aim of increasing its own resilience and that of society.
-Roof Waterproofing. In order to make its physical assets more resilient to potential storms and extreme weather conditions, Atresmedia launched a project in 2024 to improve the waterproofing of the roofs and water drainage systems at its Central Headquarters. The CapEx associated with this measure amounted to a total of €36,067.53.
-Raising Public Awareness. With the aim of contributing to and facilitating society’s adaptation to climate change, Atresmedia broadcasts awareness-raising content on climate change and the urgent need to address its consequences through its various channels. In 2024, the following initiatives stood out:
- Onda Cero, through its sustainability initiative Luz Verde, incorporated environmental protection as a cross-cutting theme across all its programming, with the goal of raising awareness and highlighting the importance of fighting climate change. In addition, in November 2024, a Committee of Experts was created for the initiative, composed of prominent figures in environmental conservation. This Committee is responsible for setting the roadmap and designing the actions to be developed within the Luz Verde framework.
- Antena 3 Noticias has a dedicated section on Climate, Society, and Culture aimed at strengthening its journalistic commitment to the future of the planet and society.
- laSexta has continued to broadcast specialized and informative content on climate change through programs such as Al Rojo Vivo, El Objetivo, Zapeando, Más Vale Tarde, and La Roca, and has continued to include energy transition and sustainability as key themes in its Metafuturo event.
- Special coverage of extreme weather events such as DANA: Antena 3, laSexta, and Onda Cero launched an unprecedented information operation in 2024, responding to the need for immediacy and accuracy required by a tragedy of DANA’s magnitude. Through its TV channels, radio, websites, and social media, Atresmedia’s news and current affairs teams provided thorough and accurate coverage, overcoming logistical, technical, and emotional challenges.
Promoting Sustainable Audiovisual Productions
In 2024, Atresmedia continued to promote the sustainability of its productions and contribute to a low-carbon economy by developing three pilot projects for more sustainable audiovisual productions. During the year, the Group worked on calculating the carbon footprint of Antena 3 Noticias, laSexta Noticias, and Zapeando — three of its most emblematic programs — and on diagnosing and evaluating their sustainability.
In 2025, Atresmedia will continue to focus on advancing both its short- and long-term decarbonization goals, with a particular emphasis on improving the calculation and reduction of its Scope 3 emissions. Additionally, the Group will work to establish a roadmap for making its audiovisual productions more sustainable. Finally, in line with the commitments made in its sustainability report, it will review and update its analysis of physical and transition-related climate risks.
