The activity began at the organization’s headquarters, located in the La Concepción neighborhood (Madrid), where volunteers and children shared breakfast before heading to the Museum of Illusions.
The group then made their way to the museum, where they explored different rooms and experiences based on optical effects and visual games. During the visit, the children were able to experiment with spaces that challenged perception, take part in activities, and enjoy a different kind of experience. After the excursion, the group returned to the association’s headquarters, where the day came to an end.
Los Chicos de José y Leo is a non-profit organization that works with children and teenagers in situations of social vulnerability and their families. Its work began in 2014 and, since then, has focused on providing a safe and stable environment that meets basic needs such as food, academic support, and emotional guidance.
In addition, the project focuses on preventing risk situations associated with child poverty, a reality that affects a significant portion of the child population in Spain and directly impacts their educational, social, and emotional development. In this context, the association also supports families by facilitating work-life balance and helping children maintain stable daily routines.
Activities like this excursion allow children to step outside their everyday environment and access different cultural and leisure opportunities, while also strengthening their connection with volunteers.
