Atresmedia's international volunteering program was born in 2007 with the aim of fostering the spirit of volunteerism and solidarity among its employees, which was already being practiced through its national format. The program has continued to grow year after year, focusing on projects related to education, health, sustainable development, and construction in resource-scarce areas around the world.
One of the fundamental pillars of Atresmedia's international volunteering has been education. Volunteers have collaborated with various schools in developing countries, providing educational resources, building infrastructures, and teaching children and adults.
Every single time, Atresmedia Volunteers return from their experiences changed, enveloped in a sense of learning, gratitude, and personal satisfaction, with new values that they apply to their daily lives and share with their colleagues within the company.
In 2020 and 2021, Atresmedia's international volunteering program experienced an interruption due to the coronavirus pandemic. During these two years, travel restrictions and health safety measures prevented activities abroad. However, in 2022, the volunteering program adapted to the situation and focused on projects within the Iberian Peninsula, allowing volunteers to carry out solidarity work in a safer and more accessible context.
Finally, in 2023, with the improvement of the global health situation, Atresmedia was able to resume its international volunteering activities. That year, volunteers travelled to Thailand, marking the restart of overseas projects.
Some of the destinations over the years have included Senegal, Peru, Cambodia, Mozambique, Bolivia, India, Thailand…Follow us on social media to stay updated on the upcoming destinations of Atresmedia's International Volunteering program!
