Thanks to an agreement with Iberdrola, the energy acquired for its facility in San Sebastian de Los Reyes, where most of the company’s operations take place, is almost 100% renewable, since 2020. Specifically, in 2021, 93% of the energy purchased by the company for this facility was classified as green.

This initiative meant a substantial contribution to the reduction of the company’s scope 2 emisión in 2020 (those related to the purchase of energy); going from 8.261 tons of CO2 in 2019 to 525,7 tons of CO2 in 2020. In 2021, the scope 2 emissions reached their lowest level since the company has been collecting this data: 428 tons of CO2.

Atresmedia is working to extend this agreement to all its facilities to meet the goal of acquiring 100% renewable energy in 2025. This initiative is aligned with the company’s net zero commitment by 2050
