In this 5th edition, Atresmedia employees were able to choose the type of training, since this year the workshops were face-to-face (guaranteeing all security and disinfection measures), but the online assistance was also maintained through live broadcast of one of the courses. Thus, almost a hundred workers were trained for another year to know how to act in the event of cardiac arrest or choking.

Since 2017, Atresmedia Group has offered its employees this training, as part of the ‘Constantes y Vitales’ Corporate Responsibility initiative, thanks to the health professionals of Proyecto Salvavidas, who have already taught 614 employees to perform CPR techniques, to use a defibrillator and to perform the Heimlich maneuver in case of choking, differentiating whether the victim is an adult, a child or an infant.

In Spain, 30,000 cardiorespiratory arrests take place each year, 80% of which occur outside the hospital setting, where the action of witnesses is essential. As part of Atresmedia's commitment to health, the Company wanted to join in the celebration of World Heart Day and remember that performing CPR and using a defibrillator with a person suffering from cardiac arrest triples their chances of survival. Likewise, choking is the third cause of external death in our country, so the training also teaches how to act in these cases.
