Since 2015, Atresmedia has collaborated through its Corporate Volunteering Program with Fundación Balia, participating in the 'Youth for Social Transformation' project, through which 20 young volunteers (between 16 and 25 years old), employees or family members of employees of the Group, have helped organize the urban camps each summer.

In Spain, one in three children is at risk of poverty and social exclusion, which is why Fundación Balia's camps arise to provide support to families with fewer resources who cannot take care of their children every vacation. The activities in which the volunteers collaborate include reinforcement of school learning, swimming, outing, health education, crafts, gymkhanas, games...

Irene Ramón, head of the Fundación Balia Volunteer Program, highlights the role of volunteers as a “relevant element for social and community development”: “The support they provide us is essential for the development of our activities. They are very dedicated and committed people. During the summer we have the opportunity to have volunteers from Atresmedia, which gives us a very important oportunity to publicize the support we provide to hundreds of boys and girls, who are in a situation of social disadvantage, and the opportunity to see how we do it on the ground, with clarity and transparency. Volunteers go from paper to practice, being able to become part of the family, contributing with their enthusiasm and desire to know other realities. Balia is a first door to a different world to which they may not have access. Volunteering for Balia is learning and teaching ”.

In the words of Javier, one of the Atresmedia Volunteers who collaborated in the summer of 2021: “I will always carry with me the memory of all the love that children gave me, the enormous gratitude they showed, whether I was helping them with math or talking about video games. They are children with immense hearts who will grow up to fulfill their great childhood dreams ”.
