In Spain, there are more than 1,064,000 people affected by hearing disabilities of different types and degrees, and 98% of them use the oral language to communicate. The current situation has generated an increase in the integration gap of people with hearing impairment, motivated, among other things, by the use of masks, which prevent them from reading lips. The Randstad Foundation, which works to achieve a real integration of people with disabilities, has launched a volunteer project to solve this barrier by making face masks that adapt to the needs of this group and allow them to lip-read. Atresmedia, committed to accessibility, has joined this project through its corporate volunteer program.

By receiving a kit with all the materials and assembly instructions, more than 230 Atresmedia employees together with their families will produce 2,500 transparent masks. Once completed, the masks will remain in quarantine for a few days, and will finally be delivered to the beneficiaries of the AMÁS Group, whose objective is the integration of people with disabilities in all areas of society.

Thus, the Atresmedia Corporate Volunteer Program adds a new volunteer action from home, which joins other online volunteering projects to respond to the needs of the groups most affected by the Covid19 pandemic, such as collaboration with 'Cibervoluntarios Responde' or 'Minutos de compañía'.
