Atresmedia has been recognized with the “Friend of Autism” award granted by Autismo España, within the framework of the institutional event held at the Congress of Deputies on the occasion of World Autism Awareness Day.

DIVERSITY AWARENESS
Confederación Salud Mental España provided specialized training on mental health throughout February to 40 journalists from Atresmedia’s various newsrooms—Antena 3 Noticias, La Sexta, and Onda Cero. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about the reality of people with mental health issues and guide media professionals on how to report and communicate news related to this topic responsibly.

DISABILITY AWARENESS
Through its program for airing advertising campaigns free of charge for social organizations, Atresmedia Group is broadcasting the awareness campaign "Working Without Masks, Employing Without Barriers" by Confederación Salud Mental España across all its communication channels.

Atresmedia Group and the Spanish Mental Health Confederation have signed a collaboration agreement to develop various initiatives aimed at promoting a real and appropriate image of people with mental health issues in the media.

A total of 40 people, users of the Randstad Foundation, have already benefited from the Atresmedia Capaz scholarships offered in previous editions. In this third edition, 15 new scholarships will be awarded with the main objective of promoting the employability of people with disabilities in the audiovisual sector through specific training.

The second edition of the Capaz scholarship project of Atresmedia together with Fundación Universia for people with disabilities is already underway and some of the students have completed their course financed 80% by Atresmedia Formación. Testimonials such as that of Leire and Noelia show us the impact that this type of initiative can have when it comes to promoting inclusion and diversity in the communication sector.

In its commitment to promoting equality and diversity in the Company and in society, Atresmedia Group joins the project Companies for Diversity and Inclusion promoted by Randstad Foundation, whose objective is to lead business action in these subjects.

The fifth University and Disability Study of Fundación Universia (in wich have participated 61 universities and 1860 university students with disabilities) has been supported by Banco Santander, Fundación ONCE, Crue Spanish Universities, CERMI (the Spanish Committee of Representatives of People with Disabilities) and the Royal Board of Disability.

Pedro and his group of friends are passionate about marathons, and Ponle Freno races of Madrid have become a main event for them. As sports lovers, they support people with disabilities inclusion in all kinds of activities.

The proyect, led by Randstad Foundation, in which Atresmedia collaborates as an active company, begins its journey with the aim of promoting business awarenes regarding disability, employment and social inclusion.

EMPLOYABILITY
Through the free-of-charge advertising program of Atresmedia Group, offered to social entities, the Company has supported and disseminated on all its digital media the new campaign Nuestro Talento Suma (our talent counts), carried out by the Spanish Confederation of Families of Deaf People (FIAPAS).

As a result of the agreement signed by both entities last December, 30 scholarships will be intended for people with disabilities in any of the courses of the Atresmedia Formación catalog.

EXPERIENCES
The stories of young people with disabilities such as Domingo, Mar and Jonathan are real testimonies of highly trained people that help foster the talent and diversity of the Atresmedia workforce. These experiences are the result of our commitment to offer opportunities for equal professional development. This responsability is included in our Human Resources and Corporate Responsibility Policy, in order to promote the integration of people with disabilities in the world of work.

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES
On the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Atresmedia supports the communication campaign #IgualDeDiferentes (just as different) to sensitize its employees about the different situations people in this group experience every day and to promote the normalization of disability.

SOCIAL ADVERTISING CAMPAIGNS
The Atresmedia Group, through its program of broadcasting advertising campaigns at no cost for social entities, has supported and disseminated this 2020 through all its communication channels two awareness campaigns on Multiple Sclerosis that aim to improve the resources allocated to these patients and investigation of their illness.

SOCIAL ADVERTISING CAMPAIGNS
The Atresmedia Group, through its program of broadcasting advertising campaigns at no cost for social entities, shows its commitment to raising awareness of intellectual disability by supporting for the fifth consecutive year the communication campaign of Down España on World Down Syndrome Day, the March 21st.

La Sexta’s programme ‘Auténticos’, produced by Atresmedia Televisión, has been nominated for the 2020 https://www.mipcom.com/en-gb/conferences-events/diversity-inclusion.html#disability|||MIPCOM Diversity TV Excellence Awards in the category of “Disability”. Presented by Alberto Chicote, the program tells real stories of people with intellectual disabilities who fight daily to achieve inclusion in different areas of society.

NORMALISING DISABILITY
Normalising disability through its media content is one of the objectives of Atresmedia Group in its commitment to diversity and equality. A clear example of this social approach is the programme 'Auténticos' presented by Alberto Chicote, which premiered on La Sexta in January 2020 and tells real stories of people with intellectual disabilities fighting daily for inclusion in different spheres of society.

AWARENESS
With its plan to broadcast advertising campaigns free of charge for social entities, Atresmedia Group is supporting and disseminating in 2020 by all its communication channels the campaign 'A Better Future' carried out by ASPACE Confederation, matching up with the World Cerebral Palsy Day which is marked on October 6 each year. There are 17 million people in the world with cerebral palsy, and 120,000 people in Spain suffer from it, being the most frequent cause of physical disability in children.

ACCESSIBILITY
The Spanish Centre for Subtitling and Audiodescription (CESyA) and the Carlos III University of Madrid (UC3M) announce the opening of the registration process for the official course 'Audiovisual Accessibility: the keys of subtitling', aimed at students and professionals in communication, translation and journalism.

AWARENESS
Through both internal and external awareness actions—such as volunteering, the broadcast of targeted communication campaigns and free airtime for NGOs, as well as the accurate representation of society’s diversity in its audiovisual content—Atresmedia contributes to the promotion of equality and inclusion.
